Why We Illuminate to Innovate: A Tale of 2 Cs

What Are You Trying to Illuminate?

I’m curious about what you have been working on recently. Not the thing that’s in front of you, that you do every day. No, not that. I am curious about what has been circulating in your mind, taking up space in the back of your thoughts, and showing up in your dreams. What is that thing that you are ALWAYS working on? Maybe you don’t even know what it is, but I know that you sense that it is there. Waiting to be revealed, discovered, and realized.

How would it feel to know? Or, if you already have some awareness, what would it feel like to step into that space and hold those possibilities for yourself? Sometimes we can know something, but no matter our efforts, the “thing” the IT just doesn’t materialize.

It can feel frustrating because you are already successful in so many ways. Your accomplishments reveal the resilience of your character and you know how to get things done. If only this one thing would be different, then you could…

This is the scenario I often hear when I am working with entrepreneurs and professionals. Incredibly successful people who have overcome challenging obstacles, and somehow they still feel stuck. Sometimes they have a clear vision but don’t see the way forward. Sometimes they are seeking a transformative shift and need someone to guide them through the process. There are many reasons why professionals benefit from coaching.

From Illumination to Innovation

At Tapas Innovation, we serve as a hybrid company, offering coaching programs,  consulting services, and also a creative collaboration model – we call it the 4Cs. Today, I want to add more perspective on the distinction between two of our four Cs, specifically our Ethos Coaching and Radical Consulting.

Ethos Coaching Brings the Light

With Ethos Coaching our primary focus is on alignment and integration. Working directly with individuals, we begin and end with the self, understanding that how we express ourselves is essential to creating an authentic experience in all aspects of our life, personally and professionally. The relationship is collaborative and serves as a partnership for your personal and professional expansion. You identify where you feel like the work needs to happen and then we incorporate a variety of tools over the course of multiple working sessions. In this relationship, you are agreeing to do deep work on yourself and to be accountable for your commitment to growth. I am agreeing to hold space without judgment while providing expertise, accountability, and structure to powerful transformational shifts. This work is impactful and the effects of it can be experienced in even a single session.

In Ethos Coaching, we draw from a variety of methodologies, including those taught through Creative Mind Life University. Our goal is to go beyond conscious awareness and to open ourselves up to more information and wisdom. We, ourselves hold the key to these powerful insights, but they can be difficult for us to see without more perspective. This is where we are illuminating, or shining a light to reveal what else is there. Ethos Coaching is different from traditional coaching in that it goes inward to achieve change, looking at personal triggers, patterns, and emotions that keep you from making the progress you want. While goal setting and action are a part of our process, we approach these concepts from a different angle that, in our experience, provides real, lasting transformation and awareness.

Radical Consulting is Fundamental

Why would we call it RADICAL? It has so many connotations, and not all of them are good. So much so, that when we decided to offer a free consulting session alongside our Free Spark Session we had to consciously choose the word “Complimentary” because, as we all know – Free Radicals cause Cancer and we know that’s not good. But still, the word resonated with us deeply.

We really considered this word before we chose it, and we chose it with intention. At its core, the word Radical means profound. When we looked at the positive associations, this word became even more endearing and central to our work. Here are a few phrases and concepts that stood out  when we were researching the word Radical:

  • Effecting change or action
  • Characterized by innovation
  • In mathematics, music, and botany the word Radical denotes the Root of, thus making it fundamental
  • And, in North American informal language the use of it means very good, or excellent, as in “Pizza for breakfast? Radical!”

So, although it has some negative meanings, it also has some powerfully good ones and we prefer to elevate it from that perspective.

With all of that said, how exactly is Tapas Innovation consulting any more radical than anyone else’s? We differentiate ourselves in a few ways.

Resurrecting Innovation

We help individuals and organizations express themselves with total authenticity with the ultimate goal to promote innovation, creativity, and most importantly, collaboration. We believe these skills are diminishing and we have a mission to prioritize and elevate this need, as it impacts individuals and businesses, and by extension our society in significant ways.

With dramatic fluctuations in culture, technology, and traditional work environments, businesses and business leaders are challenged with pivoting quickly in ways that often require vital shifts in perspective or process. We work closely with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives to help navigate these changes deftly. Our work is profound because we are willing to address challenging issues related to value systems, conflict, and brand incongruency. Our consulting processes let us provide a measurable path toward a meaningful alignment that results in a stronger, more connected culture and brand.

Our Radical Consulting directly results in:

  • Value alignment and activation
  • Clarity and conviction of brand purpose
  • Reduced turnover and increased engagement
  • An organic increase in productivity and collaboration
  • Process and communication efficiencies that promote innovation

Creative strategies to implement change

In short, when you work with Tapas Innovation, you will improve all aspects of your business. It will be easier to hire, retain, engage, connect, and advocate for your brand. Our consulting stops at the marketing space. If you need tactical marketing execution, we can work with you to connect you with other great agencies and consultants who do that work. We can also work directly with internal teams to maximize strategic impact, but we make sure there is a clear demarcation between where we stop and marketing begins. When we do our work best, we make life easier and more joyful for marketing and creative teams, and that brings us joy, too.

If you are seeking a traditional business consultant, we might not be a fit for your needs. If you are seeking innovation in process, ideas, and brand engagement or just want a fresh perspective then set up a Complimentary Radical Consultation, and let’s see what sparks.

I hope this provides more insight into how our Coaching and Consulting can benefit you, in a future post we’ll go into detail about how we can help you with Creative Collaboration.

For now, if you want to learn more about either or both of these services, just book a Free or Complimentary 30-minute Session or Consultation. If you don’t know which to choose, let your instincts guide you and consider that your first tiny coaching assignment.

We can’t wait to find out what you’ve been working on!
