The Joy (and Cringe) of the Limerick

It’s Joyful Fridays at Tapas Innovation and this Friday we’re fortunate to have it fall on National Limerick Day. Limericks have a long and rich history dating back to the eighteenth century, and we’ve all heard the proverbial “dirty limerick.” We definitely stayed in the “safe for work” zone with our limericks, but whether you’re hearing it told as a “Dad joke” or written with the best-intended eloquence, there’s just something about a limerick that makes you want to cringe a tiny bit. Well, today we’re embracing that twinge of a cringe and stepping into the playful and thoughtful spirit of the limerick. We even asked JenAI to join us and we adore their contribution! So, without further adieu, we present Tapas Innovation limericks!

There once was a person who created

But everything they made they hated

So they hired a success coach

Learned a whole new mindset approach

And all of their fears have abated.

There once was a place that was sad

The whole culture had just gone bad

The leaders fell into fear

Watching talent disappear

They never understood what they had.

Do you embrace your purpose in life?

Or is your resistance and fear rife?

If you sense that there’s more

But are feeling unsure

A Coach helps you resolve this strife.

JenAI’s Limerick

And now for JenAI’s limerick interpretation and artwork. This content was created by first asking ChapGPT to write a limerick about a person who fears AI. We then took the limerick produced by ChapGPT and put that content in ArtAI Generator and this is the image it came up with. We combined these elements to produce JenAI’s creative contribution.

There once was a person quite shy,

Who feared AI would bid them goodbye.

With a trembling heart,

They tried to impart,

“Please don’t let robots rule the sky!”

We hope you enjoyed our #joyfulfriday play. At Tapas Innovation, we believe that creative play and working through far and resistance are critical to advancing creativity and innovation, professionally and personally. If you are seeking to expand your perspective and are interested in Innovation Coaching, schedule a Free Spark Session. We promise, there’s nothing to fear.
