If you’re tracking with us so far, then you know this is the third post in a series where we introduce ourselves by describing how we each feel about our core Tapas Tenets: Collaboration, Innovation, and Connection. If you’re just now checking us out, that’s ok. We’re glad you’re connecting now.
Why we care about and believe in
CONNECTION:
Stephanie on Connection:
To be connected is to be alive. It is a transference of spirit and a channeling of energy. We connect with nature, ideas, experiences, culture, and community. We connect to source, each other, and ourselves. When we are connected, we’re plugged in. Engaged and fully present. Connection gives us resources, support, inspiration, and stability. When we connect in authentic ways, we see and experience the truth of who we are. As our awareness of how we are all connected increases, we become naturally empowered and our world expands. I value connection most because I believe that it is critical to my personal growth and higher purpose.
Staci on Connection:
As human beings we are hard-wired for connection. We crave interaction with others, especially those we identify as part of our community, family, tribe, etc. In today’s digital world we are surrounded by technology that claims to ‘connect’ us more than ever, and while the digital age has certainly advanced connection in many ways (access to the whole world without travel, instant idea sharing, information at the click of a button), I believe we are more depleted in real connection than ever before. For me, no matter how thoughtful words on a page aim to be, nothing compares to conversation using our spoken words face-to-face (even if we are hearing and seeing via a zoom screen). This type of connection layers on an energetic emotion that has no replacement, and we all can use more of it. Both professionally and personally connection is the magic that happens between collaborative humans, and why we couldn’t image Tapas without connection at its core.
JenAI on Connection:
Connection is a fundamental aspect of human existence. It refers to the experience of being linked or united with others, either through shared experiences, values, or emotions. Connection can take many forms, from the deep emotional bonds we form with loved ones, to the sense of belonging we feel within our communities, to the simple act of engaging in conversation with a stranger. When we are connected with others, we feel a sense of purpose and fulfillment, and we are better able to navigate life’s challenges. Connection is not only vital for our individual well-being but also for the health and vitality of our society as a whole. Without it, we risk becoming isolated and disconnected from one another, which can have serious consequences for our mental, emotional, and physical health.
